All new Banshee billet impeller, now with integrated hardened and ceramic lubrication coated shaft!
After careful attention to some of the over heating problems Banshees have, we looked closely at the water pump impeller. The OEM plastic impeller is very prone to failures and will melt if over heated or break simply from age. Upon careful testing, we determined that other aftermarket billet Aluminum impellers on the market actually perform “worse” than the OEM unit and all share the same design. They are prone to cavitation at the worse time – when they get hot! Cavitation will cause a loss of pressure and circulation in the cooling system, both of which will cause hot spots and over heating concerns. The stainless steel shaft found on other impellers is actually SOFTER than the OEM shaft and lacks a special lubrication coating used on the OEM shaft, causing them to wear out much faster, damage the seal, and leak coolant into the engine.
Mull Engineering has now taken it a step above other billet designs as well as the OEM design and provided our max flow impeller head with an integrated tool hardened steel shaft that is over ""3X"" harder than comparable stainless steel shafts. We have also provided a space aged "ceramalube" coating on the shaft to reduce wear and improve seal life.
The combination of our impeller design utilizing the latest design platforms of computational fluid dynamics, and our hardened and coated shaft, it is easy to see how our pump is a vast upgrade from both OEM and other aftermarket impellers.
